The first Annual Housing Summit was held on Wednesday in Enugu by the
Real Estate Developers Association (REDAN) South East.
In an opening remark by the Vice President South East REDAN Arc
Munachiso Okorocha (FNIA) Akulueuno 2019 was a call to developers and
potential developers who are interested in uplifting the housing
landscape of the South East to synergize and prepare for the boom.

Akulueuno he further said this represents the rebirth strategy of
teeming developers who hitherto operated away from home and outside
the South East but today are surfing their Real Estate terrain of the
South East and the enormous potentials it offers.

The special Guest of Honour the Governor of Enugu State RT Hon. Dr.
Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who was represented by the Secretary to the
Government Prof. Simon Ortuanya noted that the state has been in the
forefront and remain open and friendly to developers so as to ensure
that the shortfall in housing is reduced to the barest minimum as part
of the social contract with Ndi Enugu. Recently the State Government

The National President of REDAN Rev. Surveyor Ugochinyere Chime in his
presentation noted the effort by REDAN to address the unemployment in
the country by training 1.5M artisans in five years. Highlight of the
Summit was the presentation of artisans who have been trained in
various trades with certificates and also tools to start their private
jobs on their own.

Various presentations were made by Mr. Melville Ebo, the Executive
Director Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria Abuja, Mr. Keyinde Ogundimu
Managing Director Nigerian Mortgage Refinance Company Ltd. Abuja, Femi
Adewole Managing Director Family Homes Fund Ltd. Abuja and Prince
Oluseyi Lufadeju BOT Chairman REDAN.

Participants were conducted round the exhibition stands of various
organizations in the Housing Industry. Next edition of the Summit will
be held in Owerri Imo State.
