The assumption of duty of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu signifies a glorious era in the establishment of Enugu state police command and marks a turning point in the area of professionalism in Nigeria Police force.
As the Police Public Relations Officer during the Ag IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu’s stay as commissioner of Police in Enugu State. I recalled that Ag. IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu made good use of effectiveness of visible Police patrol specifically targeted at crime hotspots and possible high crime locations in around Enugu to curb crime and criminality in Enugu.
Some of his achievements that can easily come to mind are the arrest of seven suspects accused of raping a Reverend Sister, in addition to the kidnap of over 10 Rev. Fathers, pastors, politicians and passengers were arrested at Ugwuaji forest, Enugu and Enugu was relativiely peaceful, with his proactive policing.
These and other achievements were part of the things that endeared AIG Adamu Abubakar Mohammed (mni) in the hearts of Enugu people then and now.
We in Enugu state police command are of full confidence that he will replicate his numerous achievements as he now oversees the affairs of police and security in the country, especially this electioneering year and beyond.

The gallant police officer you might recall had served Nigerian Police Force in various capacities such as AIG in charge of zone 5 Benin, Commissioner of Police Enugu, Deputy Commissioners of Police in Ekiti and Kaduna States and Director Nigeria Police Peace keeping Directorate and was just appointed from the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos.
He has equally served in Interpol Headquarters lyon France as a specialized officer in Economic and Financial crime directorate where he climbed to become the first Black African to be Assistant Director in Interpol and the Vice President of Interpol representing Africa at Interpol headquarters in lyon France.
