As Rep Member Poises to empower His Constituents.
Six wards across Nkanu West and Nkanu East local governments namely; Amankanu/ Ubahu Amurri, Nkerefi, Akpugo, Ugbawka and the latest Akegbe – Ugwu ward 1 have benefitted from Hon. Nnolim Nnaji Empowerment Programme.
In all, 1200 persons have been covered in the ongoing programme, 200 persons from each ward got #10,000 each.
A total of 5600 persons would benefit from this life changing programme across 28 wards of the two local governments in the constituency.
Speaking through his aide, Chief Sylvester Okoro, the member representing Nkanu East/ West Federal Constituency, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji reiterated his commitment to better the lots of his constituents and ensure roboust representation.
Nnaji stated that he would always strive and lobby to ensure that his constituency gets its fair share at the national level.
” It is my resolve when elected to represent my people to make them proud, ensure quality representation and strive, lobby to get our fair share at the national level”
The committee chairman on Aviation advised his constituents not to relax on safety measures against coronavirus pandemic pointing out that the disease is still ravaging the globe and called for cautious to contain the spread.
In his speech, the former Caretaker Chairman, Nkanu West local government, Hon. Chief Sunday Nnaman described the lawmaker as an achiever, a goal getter who will stop at nothing to ensure that he gets what belong to his constituency and lend his voice to important issue of national concern.
Chief Nnamani expressed optimism that Hon. Nnaji will still do more for Akegbe -Ugwu ward 1 owing to his relationship and friendship with them.
Also speaking, the town union president, Akegbe – Ugwu autonomous community, Dr. Kevin Ugwu, commended Hon. Nnaji for the rare character of remembering those that voted for him while acknowledging that such is the very first time a politician would return to appreciate his constituents.
Dr. Ugwu used the occasion of appeal to the lawmaker on the state of Amigbo road and also requested his assistant on the reconstruction of their bridge.
Speaking, the ward chairman, Akegbe – Ugwu ward 1, Chief Joseph Okoro thanked Hon. Nnaji for the gesture and prayed for God’s continual blessings and protection.
In her emotional laden vote of thanks, an octogenarian beneficiary, Mrs. Josephine Udeh expressed surprise how she emerged as a beneficiary stating that she had not applied for such largesse.
Mrs. Udeh said that she would use the money to improve her petty business as she demonstrated some dance steps in appreciation.
