Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa; The Man I Know.

Leaders, John C. Maxwell says you must be close enough to relate to others, but far enough ahead to motivate them. Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa has proven track record of selfless services to humanity. Those whose paths have crossed with his have good testimonial records about this big masquerade. His accessibility and willingness to confront the anxiety and the needs of the people have proven what his self-worth is all about – a man with good heart.

Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen, says Michael Jordan. Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa belongs to the latter; a man who would not want or wish it would happen, but makes it happen. He has become a dealer of hope in the words of Napoleon Bonaparte to numerous Enugu State indigenes and South East at large.

Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa who hails from Obuoffia, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State was born into the family of Chief Ohaa Owo on the 4th of February, 1961. He obtained various academic qualifications such as Higher National Diploma in Finance, Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy & Finance, MBA in Banking & Finance.

He also obtained membership of various professional bodies such as Fellow, National Accountant of Nigeria [FCNA] and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria [CITN] among others.

These qualifications earned him the opportunity to work in various public and private sectors where he garnered working, leadership, professional and administrative experiences, until 1999 when he towered to the position of Accountant General of Enugu State and later was appointed the Enugu State Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture in 2006.

In 2007, the astute financial administrator transfered his wide range of knowledge and experience in service to the Federal Civil Service, where he was appointed Deputy Director [Account], Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity. He was later posted to the Ministry of Defence as the Head of Internal Audit in 2009. He held the position till 2012 when he was posted to the Federal Ministry of Transport as Director of Finance and Account.

Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa was posted to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources as Director of Finance and Account, from where he was appointed Permanent Secretary, Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2015.

Sir Ohaa’s selfless service to humanity, wealth of experience, deep sense of commitment tenacity, transparency and patriotism as well as his contribution to national development were seen at various Federal Ministries – Youth and Sports Development, FCT and Power where he served as a Permanent Secretary.

C.C Ohaa has a wide range of exposure and knowledge from various international courses he attended, such as Mandatory Continuing Professional Education [MCPE] of ANAN; Strategic Planning for Security and Development, London 2010; Security Awareness and Strategic Leadership, London 2012; Mandatory Continuous Professional Education [MCPE] of CITN among others.

Sir Ohaa is a man known for his zeal and passion for youth development and empowerment. A community and religious leader per excellence. His contributions to his immediate community cannot be overemphasized. The youths and the less privileged he has empowered through scholarships, employment opportunities among others are numerous to mention.

Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, an astute chief account officer, quintessential administrator, dedicated civil servant, energetic worker, resilient, hard-working and suave, bowed out gallantly and in grand style from the civil service after 35 years of meritorious service to his fatherland on 4th February, 2021.

The good people of Enugu State, behold a man who is no stranger to the management of human and material resources. With Sir C.C Ohaa, Enugu State is in a perfect hand. We are lucky to have a man of Odalije.

Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa is the man for the job. He is well equipped practically and has the pedigree and the wherewithal to take Enugu State to the next stage of transformational development. He is very tested and trusted in all ramifications.

We cannot afford to miss a refined and renowned administrator to steer the affairs of Enugu State come 2023.

We want C.C. Ohaa to bring his wealth of experience and astuteness in management to bear in our State, Enugu.

As we look ahead into the next general election in 2023, our next Governor should be a refined and an astute administrator whose watchword should be efficiency in service and humility.
